Getaways in Brittany

The Emerald Coast and the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel are perfect places for your hikes.

My husband walks there as a Photographer. He has selected some photos of our magnificent region for you in case you are still unsure whether Cancale is the right destination for your vacation.

Cancale and its oysters:
There are several beaches and ports of Cancale near Petite Emeraude:

- Anse du Verger
- Saussaye Beach
- Petit-Port Beach
- Port-Mer ( Cancale Nautical Center and Al Lark association)
- Port Picain
- Port Briac
- The Shelter of the Flots
- Port de la Houle (main port of Cancale)

You can follow the customs officers' path, the GR34 ,from Pointe des Roches Noires via Port de Houle, Pointe du Grouin to Plage du Petit-Port (12km), or you can cut off at any time to come back faster and enjoy our garden.

From Pointe du Grouin, head to the left to stroll on the Emerald Coast or to the right for a stroll in the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel.

In the upper part of Cancale - about 15 minutes on foot from the house - you can visit the Church or take a Sunday morning stroll to the market.

At the port (Port de la Houle) you find the oyster market and many restaurants/shops.

The beach bus, line 9 ""Cancale Eglise <> Saint-Malo Intra-Muros"" tours the beaches. You could therefore take the GR34 in Cancale and go towards Saint-Malo Intra-Muros or stop at one of the front beaches, according to your wishes. The bus will then take you back to Cancale.
This service is offered in 2024:
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays all year round from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a bus every hour
-every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the Spring school holidays (zone B), Ascension weekend and All Saints' Day school holidays
-every day during the summer (from July 9 to September 2, 2023) from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., with a bus every 45 minutes

The Grouin point:
The Petite Emeraude guest rooms are close to Pointe du Grouin (2.6 km). The spot not to be missed if you visit Brittany.

Whatever the weather, nature is there at Pointe du Grouin. Sunset or big storm, you will not be disappointed.

The GR 34 also passes there.

In season you can even have a drink and admire the waves... and if you are lucky enough, a seal or a dolphin may pass by the river.
